NAGPUR: A man, in his 40s, was seriously injured after he was beaten by his brother-in-law at Dharam Nagar on Friday evening. Budhram Varma, a casual labourer, was rushed to the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital with head injuries.
Kalamna police received the information of the incident on a rather dramatic note when Budhram's brother-in-law Ravilal walked into the police station claiming he had just "murdered" him.

However, the cops found Budhram alive after rushing to the spot.
Police said Ravilal and his sister Sitabai were regularly harassed by Budhram under the influence of alcohol. He had even threatened Ravilal with a sharp weapon in the past. Budhram and Sitabai had separated after the birth of their daughter three years ago. Budhram was staying with another woman.
Budhram however continued to visit Sitabai and Ravilal and harass them. An enraged Ravilal finally decided to teach Budhram a lesson.
